“Audrey is very personable and patient. She took the time to walk me through how the machine worked and explained appointment preparation and aftercare. She will listen and adjust the settings of the machine based on your needs and pain tolerance and will adjust the session length as well if you feel you need a shorter session. It only took 2 sessions a week apart to eliminate my “girl-tee” and now chin is hair free.”

Audrey is great. She cares about her clients and takes pride in being an expert in what she does. Today, after not needing services from her for many years, I was back for a visit and she honored a coupon that not only had long expired, but that I didn't even remember that I had. All in the name of the holidays and being honest and generous. That's rare.

“Start to see results after 2 visits. Very professional and friendly staff.
Audrey thoroughly discussed process before booking appointment
and very flexible schedule. Highly recommend for electrolysis.”

We perform Electrolysis services which ensures a permanent solution to your hair removal needs. Our years of practice has enabled us to perform using the most advanced methods and procedures to ensure your satisfaction.

We Use Thermolysis. This is due to many years of trial and error. We find this method is best for quickest results with least amount of damage to the skin.

Why does it take so long for the hair to stop growing?

With every treatment the hair will become finer and weaker. Some hairs will die off right away and some hairs will take repeated treatments. We generally receive a 30% decrease every treatment. This percentage is a sliding scale. Meaning some clients will receive 30% reduction right away. Some clients will be closer to 15% we also see clients that receive more then 40-50% reduction response. The only way to know how responsive the body will be is to start right away and find out! When you remove the hair you must then wait for it to grow back again before you can re-treat it. The normal growth cycle varies with each individual hair. This could take anywhere form one week to several months.

Many years of Temporary Removal Methods

Not only does tweezing, waxing and other temporary removal methods increase the depth, strength and coarseness of the hair but it also distorts or bends the hair follicle making it more difficult for the Electrologist to treat. The intensity of these reactions are determined genetically. Some clients can wax for years and see little increase in how course and amount and turn to electrolysis for convince. Some clients will double and triple the thickness and amount through the years. The treatments will help the hair follicle to straighten thereby making it easier to treat. The closer and more exact the Electrologist’s insertions can come to the base of the root of the hair and increase the chances that the Electrologist will be able to destroy the hair and its germ cells. Many of our clients have come to us from using many of these methods before they make the change towards permanent hair removal.

Other factors that influence the number of treatments before permanency:

Size, shape, and density of the hair also affect the number of treatments needed for permanency. Sensitivity of the skin is another reason for repeated treatments. Hair is strong and needs a lot of heat to be damaged permanently. We are not only placing the heat on the root to just kill the root but to also kill the germ cells that feed the root. Knocking out the root and the supporting cells is what permanently kills the root and stops the hair growth. A balance must be achieved in that the intensity of the heat used must be high enough to dislodge the hair from its follicle but not so high that it causes singeing or damaging of the outside surface of the skin. Treatments may take longer to insure the safety of the skin.

Glandular and hormonal changes due to puberty, pregnancy, and menopause can also affect the length of time before permanency is obtained. Emotional stress, changes in diet and body weight, heredity, disease, past surgeries and the use of drugs such as: steroids, birth control pills, and many others can increase hair growth by coaxing hair follicles which have not been treated with electrolysis out of dormancy.

When is scabbing on the surface of the skin not acceptable?

An Eelectrologist should be mindful not to cause scabbing on the surface of the skin. Scabbing which occurs after the first visit or so is acceptable. Some professionals will say that it is just part of the treatment. It’s understandable however we do not like our clients to experience scabbing.  Make it a point to tell your Electrologist that you had scabbing so they can make adjustments of treatment or additional aftercare suggestions. Repeated scabbing can often lead to scarring and pitting. This is not acceptable. The electrologist is either working with the heat up too high or working too fast so the probe is pulled out of the follicle before the heat is off actually singeing the skin when the probe is removed. You want hair free skin free of any scarring. This is completely attainable and a realistic expectation.

With all the talk about laser hair removal why would I be interested in electrolysis?

  • Laser should NEVER be used in the eyebrow area.

  • You will have to shave for several months, on a regular basis, in between treatments when using the laser method.

  • Laser is not effective for blond, red, white, gray, or fine hair. If someone tells you they have a laser which treats this type of hair, don’t believe them. They are using some type of short wave electrolysis and ultimately being dishonest.

  • When performed properly some lasers work well for large areas with coarse hair. Once the hair that is left is diminished to fine hair, all laser clients must then start electrolysis treatments for permanent hair removal. Some of my clients say that they have undergone the full series of laser treatments and found that after 5 years the hair has grown back. You may or may not accept this kind of result.

  • If you have a small amount of hair in an area with some coarse and some fine hair, the laser may be unnecessary, too costly, and not effective.

  • Laser is NOT recognized by the FDA as PERMANENT REMOVAL. Laser is Permanent Hair Reduction.

  • Unforchanutly when laser is marketed we as the consumer or client do not know the quality of the laser. There are some lasers that are $50,000.00 and some lasers are $550,000.00. Just like an electrologist the results can only be as good as the tools. Which is exactly why we keep our equipment top of the line and well matienced

Personal Professional Experience with Clients who have been treated by Laser.

This information is comprised of many Electrologists with over 50+ years of experience as well as a previous Laser Tech impute and research. Generally speaking what we find from Laser Hair Removal Results.  30% of clients who have laser for their hair removal needs are happy and have the results promised. 10% of this group has to extend the original purchased treatments to their OWN COST. 30% of Clients have a reduction of hair either temporarily or permanently. These clients generally have changed the thickness of hair. Making the hair finer and even less responsive to any future laser (remember for laser hair needs to be dark and course for it to be “seen “ by the laser). These clients usually have what we call laser left over’s and finished the job with Electrolysis. 30% clients will have NO results at all. NOTHING ZIP ZERO. The made the investment and signed a contract agreeing to no refunds. This last group of 10% was by some professions seen to be a low estimate as we are seeing this more and more in the past five years. These poor clients see an INCREASE IN HAIR GROWTH. This is very real this is more common on the face and upper body. Here is one example of 100’s. Client was treated on the nape area back of the neck hairline. There was a small decrease in the direct area, which is now coming back however she now has tons of fine hairs all over her upper back. The laser was not even pointed at this area. Laser works in the air above the surface of the skin. It is attracted to the dark colors, hoping the light follows the hair all the way to the root. The laser will spread over the surface of the sin like is water was poured. You cannot totally control a laser. Laser does have its positive side. It generally works well for lower body pubic hair. A male back a full bikini Sometimes under arms legs. A laser should never ever be put on the face EVER.

HOW IT WORKS

Description – Light at a specified wavelength is emitted from a hand piece, which is connected to the Laser Hair Removal Machine. This light penetrates the skin, where it targets dark material specifically the hair. This causes thermal and/or mechanical damage to the hair follicles while sparing surrounding lighter color tissues.

Advantages -The laser can treat hundreds of hairs in a very short amount of time.

Some clients have experienced long-lasting hair removal or permanent hair reduction. Considered safe if performed properly. Useful for large areas such as the back, legs and heavy beards, bikini. Re-growth can come back lighter in color or finer in texture. Light-skinned clients with very dark hair have the best results. Disadvantages –

Gray, Red, Blond and Fine Hair will not respond to the laser. Re growth can be in patches looking a bit unnatural. Eyebrows Should Not Be Treated with a laser. Clients get in the habit of shaving between treatments when the idea of professional hair removal is to remove the hair so you don’t have to fuss with it. Once the treatments have taken effect the patients continue to shave out of habit when shaving is not necessary. This can make the hair feel coarser and does not happen with electrolysis. Types of Lasers – There are four different kinds of laser light that are commonly used for hair removal:

Alexandrite – such as the Candela GentleLase Plus Ruby Diode – such as the Coherent Light Sheer ND and LP ND Yag – such as the Laserscope – is considered the least painful of the lasers having the best results. It has a higher wavelength than most lasers which makes the treatments more effective. My Recommendation – Please note that electrolysis is the only permanent method of hair removal. In the case of areas with very heavy course hair covering a very large area such as a full beard or a man’s back, the laser may have definite advantages over electrolysis and one should give consideration to this viable method of hair removal. Then follow up with electrolysis for the finer hair, which is left, will give the client complete and permanent results. This use of both laser and electrolysis seems to me to make the most sense. It has been my experience that the lasers with cooling tips rather than cryogen blasts of anesthetic are more comfortable to the client and in the long run logically and probably more effective. We should note however that there are a large number of people who have not seen good results with the laser. I am working on setting up some sort of system to evaluate different lasers with input from you. Visit back for more information.
